The abat Accelerators open up new opportunities for you in competition

During project implementation and the actual migration to S/4HANA, the focus is on topics such as data transfer, configuration and establishment of new processes, and the transfer of existing SAP ECC solutions. With a brownfield approach, incorporation of familiar and optimized processes makes it possible to transfer them together with all data to SAP S/4HANA, while selectively adapting and improving specific processes. In contrast, processes that provide a boost in innovation, have been reengineered, or better standardized make more sense to be introduced as part of a greenfield strategy.

The greenfield approach to migration to SAP S/4HANA means a complete redesign of a company's SAP processes and workflows.

This offers several advantages. Companies that have accumulated many complex workflows and heavily customized code from many years of utilizing SAP, a Greenfield can be a fresh start. Here, the use of SAP is reengineered to reduce complexity and start future-proofing tomorrow's business.

A greenfield approach, which can be performed on-premise or in the cloud, allows users to define migration objects in advance. However, the main advantage is that the transformation starts with a new system, which provides the flexibility to drive issues such as standardization and simplification along with the migration itself.

At abat, we use SAP Activate and best practice processes provided by SAP and extend this methodology with our own abat Accelerators:

  • Demo systems from day 1 with enhanced best practice processes to close identified gaps with customizing,
  • Out-of-the-box process documentation, e.g. process master list,
  • Innovation modules that can be connected plug&play, etc.

Our abat Accelerators enable you to standardize your processes and systems step by step in all phases of the implementation project, while activating innovation potential.

A hybrid approach can accelerate the runtime of a greenfield implementation. Increased organizational and structural changes are to be expected here. With the help of suitable tools and standardized methods, e.g., the use of

SAP best practices, the Data Migration Cockpit, the "Process Discovery for SAP S/4HANA Transformation," or the "SAP Custom Code Conversion," the changeover will succeed smoothly. The only question is therefore which is the most efficient way to achieve the goal.
