Quality assurance for ABAB developments with abat

In dynamic development projects, constant change is an ongoing challenge. Quality management tools and methods should help to control this change and ensure the performance, security, reusability and maintainability of the software. This means shorter development times, faster testing, less rework in the development projects and thus an increased return on investment.

When developing custom software, it is helpful to use quality assurance (QA) practices and processes in parallel to limit the number of tickets during the life cycle and to enable rapid additions or adaptations to changing requirements. Quality assurance (QA) tools and processes should therefore be integrated into all phases.

Well-configured testing tools are essential to identify common problems and monitor compliance with development guidelines. Processes should be in place for approving critical findings, and code reviews should be used to approve development according to the principle of dual control.

In this white paper, Jens Hollwedel provides an overview of standard review tools and their configuration options. Possible integration scenarios and approval processes using these tools are presented and further QA processes are discussed.
