Automated inventory with drones and AI
Stocktaking is a manual process for companies, which often ties up a lot of personnel resources and also disrupts the regular processes of day-to-day business.
All merchants in Germany are required by law to carry out such an inventory at least once a year. However, this can also be an important means of creating transparency in the company or uncovering deficient processes. However, the problem remains: In most cases, an inventory causes a high manual effort due to the counting of goods.
Together with our customer Getränke Essmann, we were able to demonstrate in an initial study (inventory of empties) that the combination of AI algorithms and drones holds great potential for automation. In the future, this development will also be transferable to many other industries and application scenarios.
