Emissions accounting

Creating transparency, achieving climate goals

A reliable emissions balance is the foundation of any climate strategy. It provides transparency regarding the climate impact of companies and products, and it establishes a basis for regulatory requirements, investor inquiries, and internal management.

We support you in comprehensive accounting and on the path to reducing your CO₂ emissions, whether it's calculating your corporate carbon footprint (CCF), product carbon footprint (PCF), reporting via CDP, or developing science-based climate targets (SBTi).

Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF)

A corporate carbon footprint is a record of a company's greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3. It shows where the emissions arise: directly from operations, from purchased energy, or from the supply chain. Thus, the CCF forms the basis for sustainability reports (e.g., those according to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)) and strategic reduction measures.

CDP Reporting

An increasing number of investors and business partners are demanding participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We support you by helping you prepare and structure your data and answer the questionnaires. This will allow you to increase the transparency of your climate strategy, strengthen market confidence, and secure better ratings.

Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

A product's carbon footprint considers its climate impact over its entire life cycle, from the sourcing of raw materials to production, use, and disposal. This assessment provides crucial information for customers, suppliers, and product developers, and promotes transparency in eco-design and sustainable value creation.

Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The SBTi has established itself as the global standard for ambitious climate targets. Based on your emissions balances, we develop science-based reduction paths and guide you through the validation process. We also integrate your climate strategy into your corporate management.

Methodology and standards

We work according to internationally recognized standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), ISO 14064 / ISO 14067, the CDP frameworks, and SBTi criteria. Upon request, we can guide you through external certification.

Your benefits

A well-founded emissions balance provides a solid basis for reporting and disclosure requirements. It also increases your credibility with stakeholders, clarifies investment decisions, and secures a competitive advantage through measurable climate strategies.

Frequently asked questions

An emissions inventory records all greenhouse gas emissions generated by a company or product. It forms the basis for climate strategies, sustainability reports, and legal disclosure requirements under CSRD or GHG Protocol.

The corporate carbon footprint measures the emissions of an entire company across scopes 1–3, while the product carbon footprint assesses the climate impact of a single product over its life cycle. Both methods complement each other and create transparency along the value chain.

A reliable emissions inventory shows where the largest sources of emissions are and enables targeted reduction measures. It strengthens credibility with investors, fulfills reporting obligations, and improves sustainability ratings.

Accounting is carried out in accordance with internationally recognized standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol), ISO 14064/14067, and the CDP and SBTi frameworks. This ensures that the results are comparable, verifiable, and auditable.

The SBTi validates science-based reduction targets and ensures that they are consistent with the 1.5-degree pathway of the Paris Agreement. This provides companies with a clear roadmap for decarbonization and increases their credibility in the market.
