Templates - the key to a unified enterprise

Are your business processes not standardized or only insufficiently standardized? Are there too many approaches and strategies for a redesign, which also appear confusing?

the future systems to allow flexible adaptations? Additionally, should the implementation of new templates be cost-effective and timely?

Phases and difficulties of template management

Template Management allows customers to manage their company through a wide variety of SAP installations, even across large distances. With the help of work packages, in which several standardized processes are bundled, the workflows within the organization are coordinated. The creation and maintenance of these (so-called) templates often requires a lot of consulting.

The first hurdles are template architecture and tailoring. Legal, technical and operational circumstances as well as the integration into existing templates of the same system rail are only a part of the framework conditions to be considered.

During the subsequent realization, the question of the project method and the correct structuring of the development and test phase usually arises.

The decisions to be made with regard to release strategy and change management are similarly complex. The project method used to create release scopes and the organization of the recording, evaluation and implementation of the change request are crucial for successful template management.

The goal of the following rollout is to keep the project risk, costs and project duration as low as possible through the appropriate strategy.

Essential here are problems such as: Can or must there be a cross-site rollout? Will this be done in service steps or by "big bang"? Are there constraints with regard to system availability? How will users be involved and supported in the rollout? Who is responsible for planning and monitoring the cutover?

Finally, the locations, time zones, languages, critical processes, support levels and user groups that need to be taken into account must be clarified prior to application management. In addition, topics such as the possibility of outsourcing or partial outsourcing to nearshoring and offshoring as well as the establishment of on-call services must also be clarified.
